In my senior thesis Part I, I investigated whether, overtime, nonpolitical characteristics such as social isolation and depressed feelings have increasing correlation with the likelihood to swing in presidential elections, controlling for other major factors, using statistical methods and survey data. I pooled the American National Election Survey-General Social Survey panel, conducted factor analysis to create measurements for social isolation and emotional vulnerability, and ran multinomial logit on the probability to swing.

Next semester, for my senior thesis Part II, I will apply machine learning to investigate whether the percentage of entertainment, noninformative campaigns increased overtime, and whether, at least in the recent elections, those entertainment campaigns were met with greater success. In addition to classifying campaign messages on social media, I also plan to estimate the users' personality and emotional stability based on their homepage activities among those who interacted with the campaign posts.

My favorite movie is Magic in the Moonlight by Woody Allen. My favorite short novels are A Child's Soul by Hermann Hesse and The Drowning by J.M Coetzee.
